Cape Verde, D. Luis with relief. Stamp of 20 reis pink, D. Luis, MF#11b, smooth paper, perforation 13 ¼, featuring a FULL DOUBLE PRINT (color and relief), 8.5 mm to the left (covering half of the stamp surface). Used copy, with a double oval postmark of “Correio de S. Vicente”. A few short teeth, as well as slight openings in the King’s head. Piece of extraordinary rarity. Unlike some double relief impressions, known on stamps from the Continent, which came from the Mint’s waste, this example appears to have been genuinely used in Cape Verde, making it the first and only double with such a double print, genuinely used.
