Lot #2105. Cape Verde. Prisoners of War. Letter sent from S. Vicente de Cape Verde by the German prisoner of war H. Leush, to Germany, with the intervention of the Bureau International de La Paix- Servisse des Prisonniers de Guerre, in Switzerland. It was sent from Cape Verde to Lisbon, where the Porte Franco stamp of the Red Cross and the violet cancellation “Commission des Prisoniers de Guerre/Lisbonne” were applied, and also the Lisbon postmark of 7-7-1916. It arrived at its destination on 12 July 1916, being one of two known letters from a prisoner of war in Cape Verde. RR.
