1929 Portuguese India. First flight cover from Great Britain to Karachi (Hackney March 27th, 1929) by Imperial Airways, under franked, taxed on arrival in Karachi with 2 annas. Several attempts were made to find the addressee, either in Karachi, Dar-Es-Salam and in Margão (Portuguese India), where a joint tax of 2T and 12 reis was applied and paid for. As Mr. Cota was absent, the cover was franked with 8 Tangas and sent again to Dar-Es-Salam, where it was finally delivered on August 10th. An extraordinary cover, probably the first sent by air mail with transit in Portuguese India.
