Lot 1984:
Azores. Stamps of Lourenço Marques used in Ponta Delgada. Letter with postage of 75 reis, composed of the stamps of 25 and 50 reis D. Carlos, of Lourenço Marques, released in the post office in Ponta Delgada on 21.7.1896. The post office of P. Delgada considered the stamps as null and void, and wrote “NULL” on each one, having also applied the postage mark T. In Lisbon, on 8.8, in transit, the postage mark was cancelled, as well as the inscription Nullo, having continued to Cambridge, Massachusetts, arriving on 20.8.
